Back in the Saddle…

Erin July 12th, 2008

Day 67: 8.5 miles (I have NO idea if I have the right day!)

Total: 125 miles

Location: Past former boundary of Cardolan

My riding schedule was beset by travels, house guests, and overtime; however, I did get to ride a little this week, and now I am two miles past the boundary of Cardolan.

So… my question is… does the fellowship still continue, or would it be more practical to go back to our solitary schedule of bike rides going nowhere? I’m fine either way… I know my participation goes at a snail’s pace, at best.

Let me know what y’all are doing? I don’t want to be updating solo! :-)

Erin, If we continue to ride the Middle Earth path, I’ll be setting out for Isengard in the morning. I’ve knocked off 2100.4 miles since we started this thing, since I’m the Bicycle Going Nowhere maniac of the group.

Shall we leave the scenario of Middle Earth and just post straight accounts of our rides? I think it would be a big encouragement just to do that. What do you think?

The Middle Earth path was just a convention to keep us all motivated and share the ‘journey.’ I’ve been negligent about updating because I’ve been playing soundtracks and more concerned about “can I belt this song when the bike is at this level” than “how many miles did I just do.”

Let’s all just share our successes, and know that this is also a safe, non-judgmental place to admit our failures. Like mine on Friday, in which I determined that mint chip ice cream is, in fact, an acceptable dinner.

I’m going to be pretty much useless about posting until mid-August now anyway.
